What is EFT?

Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) or Tapping, as it is sometimes known as, uses a combination of tapping on certain acupressure points on the face and body whilst using key words and phrases. The combination of tapping and words help release emotions that may be stuck in the body’s energy system. These trapped and stuck emotions are usually formed by trauma or unpleasant events and experiences you’ve had.

When you have an experience that you haven’t been able to totally process, the emotions generated by that event and subsequent beliefs created can go on negatively affecting you in various ways without you realizing their origin.

A simple example would be a client I worked with on a fear of spiders. Her fear was intense, but she had no idea where it came from or when it had started. Once we started to tap on her general feelings about spiders, she recalled a memory in childhood of having a spider in her hair and she instantly recalled the emotions and feelings experienced in that moment. We tapped and released those emotions, and then a few other memories arose and we tapped through each one.

The intense fear and discomfort she had experienced throughout her body of having the spider trapped in her hair as a young girl had become “stuck” in her system, and was triggered every time she even thought about a spider. But she had long forgotten the initial event so couldn’t consciously make sense of her intense fear.

We were able to work through the initial event and a few others she could recall, releasing any negative emotions and eventually greatly reducing her fear of spiders.

My experience is that EFT is an effective and completely non-invasive way to help people heal from emotional and physical pain.

It can be used on many different issues from low self-confidence, anxiety, stress, overwhelm, fears, phobias, and memories of specific traumatic events along with many other things.

Every session is bespoke and tailored to the client.

Please note: EFT is not a replacement for medical treatment.

What is Coaching?

The ICF (International Coaching Federation) defines coaching as partnering with clients in a thought-provoking and creative process that inspires them to maximize their personal and professional potential. The process of coaching often unlocks previously untapped sources of imagination, productivity and leadership. - ICF website definition.

Coaching to me is giving you the space and time to find the answers you have within you.

My job as your coach is to ask the right questions to unlock the response from within you. Maybe you've switched off your self belief, or your intuition, and I want to help you reconnect with that so you can find out what is the right thing for you away from the influence of those around you or society.

Coaching does not replace the excellent and sometimes necessary work of a therapist or counsellor, so if at any time I feel you would benefit from that kind of help I will refer you on.
